Two parts of computer simulation depicting a dynamic orbital skyhook, a cable in a sub synchronous orbit that rotates to touch the planet surface. The first part shows a touch down and take off of an end of the cable at a hypothetical space port in Africa. The second segment shows an animated diagram of the cable skyhook as it rotates and orbits to "walk" the planet surface. Shot directly off a video monitor - low image quality. Digitized in 2006.

Stanford Mechanical Engineering 1966 film of a video line following cart without using a digital computer. This odd vehicle was handed off to the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and was used in the 1970s by a succession of Computer Science graduate students: Rod Schmidt, Bruce Baumgart and Hans Moravec for Artificial Intelligence work on computer vision and robotic vehicles. The Stanford Cart is now (2006) at the Computer History Museum.
